Military families in Florida have reported scammers posing as TRICARE – the healthcare program for uniformed service members, retirees, and their families. Healthcare scams are nothing new, but scammers are always looking for new angles and victims.
If you are part of a military family, know that TRICARE will never call and ask for personal information over the phone. In general, you should never give personal information over the phone to anyone you do not know personally. If you aren’t confident a call is official, hang up and report the number to the FTC.
