Small culture feel, big company benefits
It’s really the people that make First Orion the kind of company it is. We hire people who are smart and determined, and we favor ability over experience. Although our team shares common goals and visions for the future of our company, we hail from all walks of life and speak a variety of languages—literally, not just when it comes to our code—which reflects the global audience that we serve. And when not at work, our team members pursue interests ranging from formula 1 racing to yoga, from hackathons to brewing their own beer.
We also strive to maintain the open culture often associated with startups, in which everyone is a hands-on contributor and feels comfortable sharing ideas and opinions. In our weekly Monday Morning Meetings—not to mention over email or in a local brewery—employees can ask questions directly to our CEO, Charles Morgan, and other execs about any number of company updates and happenings. It’s also worth mentioning that our offices are designed to encourage interactions between employees within and across teams, and to spark conversation about work as well as play.
A fun company tradition worth mentioning that’s been around since the beginning is our weekly “Beer Thirty” (Beer:30), which takes place every Thursday around 3:30pm. Everyone stops what they’re doing, even if it’s just for 30 minutes, and we all congregate in our Rec Room where we drink beer, play some ping pong, and chat about interesting things happening around the world. We also extend our Beer:30 invitation to special guests in and around the community on occasion to share cool stuff with the team ranging from cool Raspberry Pi Demos to hearing from chief evangelists from various industries.
At First Orion we’re on a mission to provide phone call transparency with world class data and mobile solutions. That means tackling one of the biggest problems in the mobile industry today – privacy. We’re building a world-class company full of pretty amazing people who challenge and inspire each other.
